Rat Tales Review

By Ezekiel McAdams

Rat Tales is one of three Kids Fringe show this season. It comes from local company, Shadow Players.

Directed by Kelsi Moser, Rat Tales is about fairy tales and morality stories told from the rats perspective.

The ensemble cast of Kaylyn Bull, Kellie O'Brien, Hope Larson, Aneurin Shearsby , Sage Dent and Julia  MacPherson  are great and play well off each other with the standout being Larson  who  brings a little diversity to each character in her small role.

Depending how children feel about rats and fairy tales, they will most likely enjoy this. There are several jokes that are aimed for children and the pacing and direction from Moser is fast enough that the show never drags

Rat Tales at least attempts to do something different with the standard fairy tale formula  that should be recognized.

Rat Tales can be seen at Victoria School Gym.
